Welcome to Oberplunerhof – your new home in the mountains. Here, tradition, nature, and heartfelt hospitality come together. Nestled among meadows and forests, our farm overlooks the valley below, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the lower Val Pusteria. Here, you’ll experience first-hand what makes life on the farm so special.
We’ve been welcoming guests to our farm for over 30 years, sharing the beauty and tranquillity of our mountain lifestyle. It all started when Marlene inherited Oberplunerhof and Radmüllerhof from her mother. Two farms – and a family working them with passion and love. Today, Marlene’s sons have taken over: Wolfgang manages Radmüllerhof, while Armin and Annalisa, along with their three children, run Oberplunerhof – and look forward to welcoming you to their home.
Armin is your main point of contact at the farm. He manages guest relations, handles emails, and personally greets you when his schedule allows. Besides looking after the sheep, bees, and berry orchard at the Oberplunerhof, Armin also works part-time in a technical office. In his free time, he loves exploring nature on his mountain bike or on ski tours.
Annalisa, originally from the Val di Non in Trentino, is the creative heart of Oberplunerhof. She not only designed the sketches for the website but also brings her artistic flair to many other aspects of the farm. Alongside her part-time job in the structural engineering department of a timber house manufacturer, she lovingly looks after the children and is usually found on the farm in the afternoons. When she’s not hiking or exploring new travel destinations, Annalisa ensures the farm remains cosy and welcoming.
Our three children, Isabella, Leonard, and Julia, fully embrace life on the farm. Their main responsibility? Feeding the rabbits—when they remember! You’ll often find them playing outside, on their adventures around the farm. They are living proof that life at Oberplunerhof is a special experience for young and old alike.
Marlene, our mother and the soul of the farm, can often be found at both Oberplunerhof and Radmüllerhof. She takes care of the flowers, the vegetable garden, and helps with cleaning the chalets and apartments . She also guides guests during farm tours and is your go-to person for questions about the trout pond or life on the farm. Hubert, our father, ensures fresh bread is available every morning and takes care of maintenance around the farm. He also enjoys looking after the sheep and lends a hand wherever needed.
Armin’s brother Wolfgang primarily lives and works at Radmüllerhof but often joins us at Oberplunerhof when work calls on the meadows and fields. You’ll recognise him instantly – he’s the one smiling as he drives the tractor through the fields. Together with Armin and Marlene, Wolfgang ensures everything runs smoothly on the farms.
We live and work together as a family on our farms, and that’s exactly what we want to share with you, our guests. Here, you’re not just visitors but part of our community. Whether you want to help with farm work, get to know our animals, or simply enjoy the peace and expanse of nature, we look forward to welcoming you into our home.
Immerse yourself authentic rural life! At Oberplunerhof, you can watch our sheep and rabbits, while Radmüllerhof offers even more to discover: cows, geese, chickens, goats, and more. If you’re interested, watch the cows being milked or join a guided tour of the farm – a genuine farming experience for all ages!
Families are sure to enjoy their time with us! Two playgrounds invite kids to run wild, while adults can relax in the orchard with its old apple trees and berry bushes. For cosy evenings, there’s a fire pit where you can bake stick bread or marshmallows. A game of table football awaits you on the communal terrace, and if you’re looking for even more adventure, a hike leads you directly from our farm through the beautiful countryside. Fancy something special? Join us on a trip to the alpine hut – a unique experience for the whole family.
Our rustic alpine hut, nestled at the edge of the forest and surrounded by green meadows, offers breathtaking views over the valley. With no electricity but featuring a comfy bed, a stove, and a sunny lawn, it’s the perfect spot for a day in nature. Grill some food, soak in the tranquillity, or take a hike to the Alpe di Rodengo. From June to September, we can take you up in our all-terrain vehicle – whether you explore the mountain trails or simply enjoy a relaxing return, the choice is yours.
Fancy some fresh fish? At Radmüllerhof’s trout pond, you can catch your own trout without needing a fishing licence! We’ll provide the equipment, and you’ll arrive at the pond after a short walk. Later, you can grill your catch at one of our barbecue spots – fresh and delicious!
